While Sarajevo and Srebrenica are often recognized as the two major sites of atrocities during the war, atrocities occurred throughout Bosnia.
In Prijedor, Bosnia Serb authorities forced Bosniaks in the city into concentration camps. An estimated 3,172 civilians were killed in Prijedor during the Bosnia War. Today in Prijedor, people commemorate the events that took place in the city by wearing white arm bands on May 31st.
