Nermin Peimanović was born in Srebrenica, but at the age of 12, Peimanović and his family immigrated to the United States.  Peimanović attended Warren Central High School, and in 2010 he graduated from WKU with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.  He formerly worked as an Assistant Engineering Manager for NHK International, and he currently serves as engineering consultant for NHK.  As a young adult, Peimanović has been actively involved in organizing many major events relevant to the Bosnian American community in Bowling Green.  In 2012, Peimanović served on the organizing committee for the 17th Annual Convention of Bosniaks in North America, hosted in Bowling Green.  In 2013, he was elected to the Board of Directors for the Bosnian Islamic Center in Bowling Green.  He has also served as a representative of the Bosnian Islamic Center to the Islamic Community of North American Bosniaks.

Though Peimanović came to Bowling Green as a child, he is now a father to three young children himself,  a 5-year old, a 2-year old, and a newborn.  Peimanović sees Bowling Green as his current and future hometown and looks forward to raising his children here.

“I’ve lived here more than I’ve lived in Bosnia [. . .] You can’t say, you know, you’re just Bosnian anymore . . . You, you grew up here.  This is [. . .] your home now.” Peimanović reflects, “I think the best way to describe it is . . . American growing Bosnian roots.”
