Amer Salihovic

Amer Salihović moved to the United States from Bosnia at the age of seven.  While attending Warren Central High School, he was heavily involved in Kentucky’s Student Technology Leadership Program and FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) Team Robotics.  It was through these opportunities that he discovered a passion for innovation, engineering, and design.  Following high school, Salihović attended WKU, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.  He has worked for Gulfstream Aerospace and the Boeing Company, and currently works for HeathCo in Bowling Green.  He is very passionate about his family, work, community, and heritage, evident through his active involvement and service in his community, such as the annual Walk to Remember Srebrenica.
As Salihović’s ambitions demonstrate,

“We are a people that the world should be proud of.  We are a people the world should get to know better because we are the perfect example of resilience and perseverance.  No matter if we are in Sarajevo, Tuzla, Bratunac, Berlin, Chicago or in a little city by the name of Bowling Green, we find a way.  We find a way to be successful, productive, and contributing members of the communities that we call home.”
